I feel as though what we have now isnt capitalism, at least not truly, as real capitalism would allow for new businesses to overthrow existing products if they are better however monopolies are stifling and shutting out competition so their product becomes the only option for consumers. Paired with the silent tax of inflation ruining the economy over the years has led to what we have now: Money that is worth less and things that cost more. Unfortunately i really dont see a solution that could be happening anytime soon as the government is SO corrupt that businesses practically run the show and no president is going to do anything real about the insane amount of money they are printing as that would make a lot of their voters unhappy as things like Social Security would crumble almost immediately losing the huge elder vote.
And i really dont see any other options working, Communism is an idealists wet dream, Socialism could so easily lead into the same situation we have now but instead with the government in control of even more stuff. Nothing is ideal, and im personally a capitalist and can obviously see the flaws in the system we just need to make sure to maintain the core values of capitalism, something that has not been happening for a while.
