There was a "protonbeam" in earlier comics and just the unibeam as we know but only after the MCU movie (ironman 2008) the comics adapted the concept of "repulsor tech node" which is a counterpart to the MCU's Arc Reactor, but MAYBE this one doesnt follow neither of those lines and just dont need one/have nanotech
