So it starts somewhere in the 1980s in the American Midwest. David Beaumont is born. He enlists in the United States Armed Forces at a y**ng age, and fights in the Middle East, supposedly in the Global War on Terror, because he says “We were just k*ds. B*ys in the desert, what can we do? I have no idea what we’re doing there. I don’t even know where they are now.” in his apartment post S-Rank of A New America looking at photo. Following his service, Beaumont s the Chicago Police Department, where he became a SWAT officer. In 2017, the Chicago Nightclub Ma**acre occurred, where Beaumont’s entire squad was k***ed, and he was left severely injured, mentally and physically. After his last surgery, his wife, Elizabeth, suggests he goes to Nevada to “find himself.” Elizabeth is heavily suggested to have been a government plant, more on that later. Her suggesting he goes to Nevada suggests Beaumont had eyes on him before the Chicago Nightclub Ma**acre, and I’m thinking that it might have actually been orchestrated, the ma**acre, to break Beaumont down so he could be rebuilt in their image. A blank slate, of sorts. So anyways, Elizabeth disappears without a trace. Government plant. Beaumont goes to Reno, Nevada, transferring to Reno Police Department, where somewhere along he is absorbed into the Mariposa Leaf Project, the in-game version of MK Ultra, where Beaumont is engineered to be the perfect super soldier. He is the second cohort, as the first attempt of this produced the MLO, present in A New America. Crazy, government obsessed militants. Beaumont is assigned “Gamma-One.” Sometime in Nevada, he meets a friend named Evan who promises to “Never lead him astray.” Evan is also a government plant. Beaumont is subjected to memory compartmentalization and mind re-wiring, to suppress memories of his experiences in Nevada, give him lowered empathy, blunted startle response and negligible cortisol spike under stress, heightened situational awareness and psychological steadiness under simulated stress, all benefiting his combat. During Nevada, Beaumont is also said to have participated in top secret, clandestine operations. After Nevada, Beaumont is fast tracked to D-Platoon commander, sparking suspicion among colleagues. He is planted as a sleeper agent, surveilled via a hidden surveillance room built into the LSPD headquarters, discovered during renovations, but by then, long abandoned. The missions start slow, initially with a gas station robbery, but exponentially speed up, with one mission, Neon Tomb, directly mirroring the 2017 Chicago Nightclub Ma**acre, believed to be a test of the MK Ultra trauma suppression. Beaumont’s planting as D-Platoon commander is confirmed with a transcript between two agents found in Carriers of the Vine, also confirming his status as Gamma One. Gerard Scott in A Lethal Obsession also knows Beaumont to a certain extent, suggesting some past in common, possibly in the Mariposa Leaf Experiment. A surveillance room is also mentioned in this transcript, believed to be the room discovered in headquarters. Sorry if things are kind of trailing off now, I’m saying this as I go. After the Elysian Hotel mission, others within the LSPD grew suspicious of Beaumont, and launched a secretive investigation into him, notably into how many incidents occurred only with Beaumont in close proximity. This is later revealed to be deliberately orchestrated by the MLO to test Beaumont, and ultimately lead him to his final test in the A New America mission. During a New America, you are presented with a choice. In the final room, the court room, lies the triggerman. You can either save the day like a good boy and disarm the boom booms, or you can purposely detonate them. They lead to separate endings, and it is currently unclear as to which is canon. Likely both are equally. If you disarm, you end up in Beaumont’s apartment, which is across the street from a strip club and is quite small, which makes you wonder where this guy’s paycheck is going. There is documents and notes all over the walls, suggesting Beaumont has been trying to uncover his past on his own. Some documents are also there given to him by those who were suspicious of him in the LSPD. Because he disarmed the boom booms, the suspicion is relieved, and the documents are forwarded to him to aid in his personal investigations. A watch is also gifted to him by his team as an apology. If you detonate, you are brought to federal prison. This is where The Man In Green Gloves is most notable. He is believed to represent a third organization. A secretive high society. A crude drawing of Elizabeth is scratched into the wall of Beaumont’s cell, and when interacted with it, Beaumont will say “symbols, images, it all pours in, flowing in my head like running water with no words. You were always good at masking, weren’t you? Not like it was me putting on a brave fucking face. Were you even fucking real?? Was any of this real? Did you just lie to me the whole time, like everyone else? Everytime I tried to your face, it distorts in my mind. Who even were you??” (He’s fully fuckin lost it by now.) The Man In Green Gloves (yes that is his canon name in the subtitles) will come to visit Beaumont in prison. Not sure when or what triggers his entrance, but it happens. The full interaction goes as follows. “Mr. Beaumont… a pleasent evening to you. You will never know my name, and no one would believe you if you spoke it. The cameras, the guards- gone. There are no witnesses to our moment. I find it curious how a man such as yourself can emerge unscathed in scenarios where others would break. Within those eyes, I see you’ve navigated every corridor of your mind, praying and hoping for an exit. Yet those above you rearrange the halls. And you were made to heel on command, and they called it destiny: your job, their ‘experiment.’ There is no map, David, no prophecy, no grand vision for America; only the cartographers, those who draw the borders of the possible, they craft the reality that’s around us. The USIA’s (c-word I can mention here) of the first and second cohorts worship mere symbols. They are zealots. So crude, and yet so graceful. Energies wasted on endless wars, fighting to transmute the ruins of the USIA’s failure to build anew. Those puppets that you call the USIA, who merely crunch variables. They try to twist the fabric of reality with tools unworthy of the material they have no right to possess, let alone even have access to. Both are bound, ensl***d really… by belief. But you… you dangle on the precipice of something.. rarer. What I offer- what we offer, is authorship. To move beyond agency, beyond choice. Freedom. Those faceless flower children, nothing more than mind-broken test subjects meant to absorb you into their collective, whilst the USIA intended to remake you in their own image. And now both and poised to succeed, all depending on who gets there first, of course. I see.. that their plan is already in bloom. Ever looked in the mirror? If you reject me now, they will lay claim to you. You will be their vessel, David. I did not come to save nor k*ll you. I came to ask: are you ready to no longer be?” Beaumont will respond “Yes… yes I am.” To which The Man in Green Gloves will end with “A wise decision, Mr. Beaumont. Step through with me, there is no light here.”
yeah so beyond sleeper agent shit now, this is way above that. The Man in Green Gloves is also supposedly a 5’11 Asian… if that’s of any importance after all of that. Amazing lore.
